Moline, IL\u2014The Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the appointment of Alfred Ramirez as Interim President effective March 1, 2010. During his tenure, Mr. Ramirez will implement the Chamber\u2019s Strategic Plan, promote business and fund development, and help GQCHCC members build capacity through training and technical assistance. <\/p>\n

Bob Ontiveros, Chairman and Founder of The Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce stated, “Having Alfred\u2019s experience and expertise will continue the tremendous growth of the Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber. We are very fortunate to have him on board.”<\/p>

Mr. Ramirez is a management consultant who specializes in developing and improving the impact of national, regional and local organizations and programs across diverse socio-economic arenas and constituencies. Through personal or group training, he specializes in creating or implementing diversity and inclusion strategies; recruitment and retention plans; and executive and organizational leadership development strategies.<\/p>\n

Mr. Ramirez has collaborated with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Chambers of Commerce in Los Angeles, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Waterloo, and Des Moines, in addition to the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Hispanic Chambers of Commerce in Texas, New Mexico and Washington D.C., and the Quad Cities.<\/p>\n

Mr. Ramirez\u2019s previously held leadership positions in the Clinton Administration, serving as special assistant to the President as associate director in the White House Office of Presidential Personnel; senior advisor at the Corporation for National Service; and executive director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans.<\/p>\n

Founded in October 2008, the Chamber has grown to more than 100 members. In February the Chamber\u2019s office at 511 17th Street, Moline, Illinois was officially opened with part-time staff. It has developed a partnership with Black Hawk College\u2019s Small Business Development Center, as well as the partnership with the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>
