After the food was cleared away, after a few stock comments from Davenport Mayor Bill Gluba and LULAC director Henry Vargas, and after the runners-up and their escorts had made their way across the floor, there was one subject of attention &ndash; Jamie Vargas, 19, a plucky girl with bright eyes and a sunny smile.<br \/>  <!--more--> <br \/> She seemed a little overwhelmed by the attentions, and only came onto the dance floor after a two or three other couples and several of the children had led the way.
