Hundreds of people came to Black Hawk College to see a mix of cultures and the uniqueness each culture represented. The gym was filled with colors of all the flags, clothing, and ethnic music.

Coordinator of the festival, Angela Elliott said the festival had a “terrific group of folks.” She enjoyed most the excitement the performers had from talking about their heritage and sharing part of themselves with others through dance music clothing.<\/p>\n

She wanted to thank the festival planning committee and especially Danica McMullen who coordinated the fashion show, which was one of the more popular shows of the evening. “Stephen Baldridge did a great job in creating and performing the theater production ‘Sticks’,” she said.<\/p>

There were at least 35 nations represented throughout the event. Dances from all over the world including: India, Liberia, Togo, and the Quad City Ballet Folklorico with dances from Mexico. Europe was also represented by a man wearing a Viking costume. The money raised went to the International Student Union Scholarship fund. <\/p>\n
