The RiverCenter to Host Invicta FC 9

Only weeks after the successful debut of Invicta FC 8 on UFC Fight Pass, it was announced last week that the company will be right back at it in November for Invicta FC 9. This is the fastest turn -around time Invicta FC has had between events and it also marks the first time the organization will take its show on the road outside of its usual Kansas City venue. And to make things even better, it will be right here in the Quad Cities. On Saturday, November 1st, Invicta FC President, Shannon Knapp will bring Invicta FC 9 to The RiverCenter in Davenport, IA.

“We are extremely excited to be holding our next event in Davenport, IA,” said Knapp. “Iowa has deep roots in this sport and I am a big fan of the Midwest.”

Invicta FC 9’s main event will feature current Invicta FC flyweight champion and Iowa native, Barb Honchak (9-2) as she puts her title on line against Takayo Hashi (15-4-1).

“Providing an opportunity for our current champion, Barb Honchak to defend her belt in front of hometown fans was very important to me when looking at locations to host our event,” explained Knapp.

Mike Goodwin, President of Caged Aggression Mixed Martial Arts, the area’s largest MMA promotion company released a comment about his involvement in this deal with Invicta FC and the Rivercenter. “As most of you know, we (CAMMA) have an exclusive deal with The RiverCenter,” said Goodwin. “I didn’t even have to think twice about opening the doors to this amazing promotion.”

With all the attention around women’s Mixed Martial Arts lately and the fast rise of Invicta FC, the Quad Cities is very lucky to be hosting this event especially with the recent marriage of Invicta FC and UFC Fight Pass as the event with be nationally and internationally streamed that night.

It’s been quite awhile since the area has hosted an MMA event of this caliber and with Honchack defending her title in the main event in front of her hometown guarantees to be an action packed fight night in downtown Davenport.

Invicta FC 9: Honchak vs Hashi will take place Saturday, November 1st, live from The RiverCenter in Davenport, IA and also stream live on UFC Fight Pass. For more information and to see the entire card, visit,
