This month, we celebrate a group of women that are the definition of Xingonas: the ladies of the Latina Leadership Initiative, LLI. The group of women recently celebrated their graduation from the 9-month program, with their family, mentors, friends, and members of the Board of Directors.
The ceremony took place at Grand View University on Saturday April 29 and welcomed a new generation of leaders that have graduated from the leadership program. “I am very proud of my girl. I know that she has learned a lot and that she is ready for whatever because she is a strong leader,” a mother of one of the participants tells Hola. “Starting May 1, we will be accepting applications for the new LLI class of 2018,” says Paula Plasencia, president of the Board of Directors. “For more information, you can visit our site, latinaleadershipinitiative.org.”
