With spring around the corner, there is one thing on the minds of runners everywhere. What is going to be the craziest 5k I do this year? Well, Stuart Kaul, Director of Events for the Insane Inflatable 5k, is pretty confident that his event will be on the top of your list of must run races for 2015.
“We loved the idea of the fun runs,” said Kaul. “We wanted to do one that no one had done yet and nobody had done an all inflatable run.” This will be the second year for this event and it has definitely grown from the first year. “We added fifty-five locations this year,” said Kaul. “Last year we had eighteen locations and this year we have seventy-five.”
The Insane Inflatable 5k will hit Iowa first in Cedar Rapids on June 20th and then make its way to the Quad Cities in Illinois on July 18th and September 19th in Rockford.
“We are really excited for the Midwest,” said Kaul. “Registration has been great so far.” As themed races have taken over the streets in the past few years it was important for Kaul and his team to make something the whole family could enjoy. “This is a race where you can go out and have good time with your friends,” said Kaul. “No matter what your athletic ability is, everyone can participate.”
Part of the registration fee for the Insane Inflatable 5k will go to a local charity from the area that the event is in.
