Cedar Rapids, Iowa – July 10, 2015 – The Cedar Rapids Latino Festival, presented by Veridian Credit Union, will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2015, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mays Island at 3rd Avenue Bridge in downtown Cedar Rapids . The festival will celebrate a variety of Latin-American cultures and traditions through live music, dance performances, food and family-friendly activities. In addition, local organizations serving Latino communities will host informational booths. The festival is free to attend and open to the public.
The featured musical entertainment will include performances by two Latin-influenced bands: Tornado Musical and Parranderos.
Las Rancheritas del Norte will perform various folk dances from Latin and Central American cultures throughout the day.
Authentic Mexican and Cuban food from local vendors will be available for purchase. There will be many free activities for children, including piñatas, face painting, crafts and other activities.
The Latino Festival is a time for people of all ages and ethnicities to experience and learn about the rich and diverse Latino culture. The festival is a reflection of our welcoming and vibrant community.
