MOLINE, IL –The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley (BGCMV) announced today that it is accepting registrations for its 2014 Golf Invitational, to be held Tuesday, July 8, at Short Hills Country Club in East Moline, IL. PGA Tour professionals Brian Harman and Jordan Spieth will again join the event, including in a “beat-the-pros” closest-to-the-pin contest. Harman currently ranks in the top 40 PGA Tour scoring leaders – and will also hold a golfing clinic for BGCMV members to kick off the day. Spieth is the reigning PGA Tour rookie of the year and 2013 John Deere Classic champion.
The event offers attendees a full day of golf and networking. In addition to the PGA Tour pros, other highlights include:
• A Grand Prize of a private jet golf experience to one of the top three U.S. courses (as rated by Golf Digest)
• Golfer swag bags and amenities valued in the hundreds
• A wide variety of hospitality stations located across the course
• An on-the-course after party, including music, dinner and silent auction
“The Invitational is a fun way that all of us can come together for a great cause – and help kids develop skills for a better future,” said Gregg Ontiveros, Group O CEO and 2014 Invitational Co-Chair. “Many of last year’s participants told us it was the best golf event they’ve ever attended – and we’re looking to build on that this year.”
Now in its 13th year, the Invitational has helped raise more than $1.3 million since 2002. This year’s fundraising goal is $200,000, with all proceeds benefiting the BGCMV.
Title sponsors for the 2014 Invitational include US Bank, Samsung and Group O.
